Wagner's Tristan Und Isolde: Act III: BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra
Betrayed and alone, Tristan lies wounded in his castle of Kareol. As his strength ebbs, he sees fantastic visions and dreams that the love of his Isolde might still redeem him. And so it will:
but in a way more terrible, and more beautiful, than either of them had imagined. In the final act the music verges on the transcendent - though not before we’ve confronted the darkest implications of Wagner’s world-changing vision, in Richard Strauss’s wordless war-requiem for strings, Metamorphosen.

This event takes place at Usher Hall, which has achieved Bronze Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
Formed in December 1935 by Scottish composer and conductor Ian Whyte, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra is recognised as one of the UK's leading orchestras.
The winner of several awards, including a Royal Philharmonic Society Award and four Gramophone Awards, its wide repertoire and flexible approach means it can perform complex contemporary pieces alongside major symphonic works.
The orchestra has a busy broadcasting schedule on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Television and also records commercially.
