Graeme Stephen's Faust
Graeme Stephen is one of Europe's most inventive guitarists. From roots in the his major influences, Jim Hall, Pat Metheny and Bill Frisell, Stephen has grown into a player and composer with an individual voice. His work with improvising trio NeWt, piper-saxophonist Fraser Fifield and his own groups has been distinguished with a melodic sensibility and questing rigour and his specialisation in creating new soundtracks to classic films extends his compositional talent into fascinating wide screen possibilities. Joined here by saxophonist Martin Kershaw, bassist Mario Caribe and drummer Tom Bancroft and playing live to a showing of the film, Faust captures Stephen at his inimitable best.
