Edinburgh International Jazz & Blues Festival
Burgess is the leading player in the renaissance of swinging jazz. A tenor saxophone player with a beautiful sound; and a clarinetist who can purr and excite in equal measure. His new, all-star band - Colin Steele (trumpet), Campbell Normand (piano), Andy Sharkey (bass) and John Rae (drums) - plays the music that the Louis Armstrong All-Stars loved, and 50's New Yorkers flocked to Eddie Condon's to hear.
