Plague! A Cultural history of Contagious Diseases in Scotland

This exhibition will tell the cultural and social history of contagious diseases in Scotland. Using occasionally gruesome exhibits, you will see how pustular horrors including the Black Death, cholera, typhus, smallpox and other plagues have ravaged the country over centuries.

They will also highlight a range of reactions to contagious diseases: by government, in literature and religion, in folklore and the press and by science and medicine.
