Hugh Buchanan Paints The John Murray Archive
NLS are displaying a selection of work from renowned artist Hugh Buchanan. The 19 watercolour paintings on display were inspired and informed by the John Murray Archive.
The paintings are of the archives, manuscripts and books of some of the most iconic names in literature, including Jane Austen, Lord Byron, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sir Patrick Leigh Fermor and Sir Walter Scott.
This display gives you a fascinating insight into the lives and works of these great authors, and will be featured alongside a selection of original items from the archives.
