Foodies Festival

Foodies Festival, the UK’s largest celebration of food and drink returns home to Edinburgh Inverleith Park on 5th, 6th and 7th August to celebrate its 11th year.

Each year the ever-growing festival sees tens-of-thousands of visitors flock from the surrounding areas to feast on a vast array of culinary activities, making Foodies Festival the social event of the summer. They have top chefs cooking in the Chef’s Theatre; wine, beer, and cocktails in the Drink’s Theatre and kids can learn to cook too in the Children’s Cookery Theatre.

A new Tasting Theatre is an exciting addition to the festival with masterclasses designed by bloggers and experts introducing festival-goers to the latest foods and flavours including Raw Food, Japanese Soul and Vegan. Local experts will also guide visitors through Oyster Shucking, Mushroom Foraging and Bee Keeping.

The Cake & Bake demonstrations in the Tasting Theatre are a confectionary paradise for passionate bakers with 3D cake modelling, Chocolate Making, Sugar-Crafting and a complementing Chocolate, Cake and bake Village selling bakes, jams, gadgets and ingredients.

Visitors to the festival can look forward to toasting Foodies’ big year in the Wine and Champagne Theatre where experts Neil Phillips and Charles Metcalfe will guide you through this season’s best bubblies from the south coast and around the world, while beer expert Melissa Cole joins the festival to host masterclasses in the Beer Theatre beer tasting and tutoring as well as a food and beer matching.

A new Feasting Tent at the heart of the festival becomes the social hub, where visitors will enjoy eating with chefs, friends and family at long banqueting tables.

Another exciting addition this year is the Vintage Tea Tent that will hold daily tea dances.

A new Chilli Food Market will excite those with a love for spicy foods with a range of chilli growers and artisan producers of sauces, sweets and jams. For those who can handle the heat a Chilli Eating Challenge takes place at 5pm daily.
