A rare Scottish visit from the uniquely sublime proposition that is Bamboo, the ambitious synth-pop-meets-folk project of Brighton's Nick Carlisle (Peepholes, Don't Argue) and London DIY-scene lynchpin Rachel Horwood (Trash Kit, Halo Halo, Bas Jan, Rozi Plain etc). Horwood's affectingly unadorned vocals and refreshingly unstylised electric banjo merge with Carlisle's rich, epic synth atmospheres and dazzlingly catchy electronic arrangements to create a deep, emotive and enveloping soundworld. Across three albums for London's ever-essential Upset The Rhythm, the band has explored subjects such as identity, folklore and womanhood, all inflected with their unique east-meets-west sound.
Support comes from Edinburgh's own rising electro-pop superstars Super Inuit, plus we'll be blessed by the interstellar hyper-pop of Glasgow's Lady Neptune.
Interim music for dancing situations provided by DJ Dream Caravan.
