Never miss another 'Professor Brian Cox' show
Professor Brian Cox Live: Professor Brian Cox, Robin Ince
Heading to venues across UK and Ireland in Spring 2017, it’s the hotly anticipated tour by the acclaimed Professor Brian Cox, OBE. The show will take audiences on a dazzling journey through space and time, delving into ‘high science’ and freewheeling on the edges of the known cosmos. Whether an avid science reader or a total novice, Professor Brian Cox Live will test the limits of our knowledge and make highly complex ideas accessible to all.
The tour will find Cox 'freewheeling on the edges of the known cosmos' as he continues to demystify the wonders of the universe after the success of his recent BBC TV documentaries. As part of the show, Cox will be interviewed on stage by Robin Ince with whom he co-presents the Radio 4 series The Infinite Monkey Cage.
Cox, who works on the Atlas experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at Cern in Switzerland, is known for his rapturous yet straightforward accounts of science. He told the Observer earlier this year: 'The idea that scientists are some kind of priests that have unique access to knowledge about nature is nonsense – in many ways I see it as the codified application of common sense. It’s like plumbing'.
Brian is Professor of Particle Physics at The University of Manchester, The Royal Society Professor for Public Engagement in Science and a Fellow of the Royal Society. As a broadcaster, Brian has presented a number of highly acclaimed science programmes for the BBC, boosting the popularity of subjects such as astronomy and physics and garnering a host of accolades, including two Royal Television Society awards and a Peabody Award for Wonders Of The Solar System.
He has also authored a series of best-selling books, including the widely acclaimed Human Universe and the recently released Universal: A Guide to the Cosmos, and is recognised as the foremost communicator for all things scientific. His latest critically acclaimed BBC series, Forces of Nature, aired in 2016 whilst he recently once again co-hosted Stargazing Live. He holds two Guiness World Record titles for a science tour for his total sell-out debut tour, which began in 2016.
Brian is perhaps the world’s foremost communicator of all things scientific. His innate ability to make highly complex matters enormously entertaining and easy to contemplate for the avid science bod or total novice alike has made his science television shows ground breaking in their audience reach and accessibility. The first-ever Professor Brian Cox Live tour was seen by over 150,000 people around the UK and Ireland.
