Edinburgh Festival Fringe: What?!: Jimeoin
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest arts festival in the world. Throughout August, the Royal Mile will once again become the city's most colourful and exciting artery with vibrant theatre, street performers and tourists flocking from all over the world to queue up for a glimpse of some bohemian mastery.
Every year thousands of performers take to a multitude of stages all over Edinburgh to present shows for every taste. From big names in the world of entertainment to unknown artists looking to build their careers, the festival caters for everyone and includes theatre, comedy, dance, physical theatre, musicals, operas, music and exhibitions.
During the festival the Royal Mile is completely closed to traffic. Performers from far and wide pour into Edinburgh to fire throw, sword swallow, try a new tune, or chain themselves to themselves! A wheelin' and spinning carnival world comes to life in Edinburgh when August hits.
See www.edfringe.com for further information and ticket details.
Having left his native Northern Irish town of Portstewart and settling in Australia over a decade ago, Jimeoin's disarmingly relaxed, cheeky and sometimes surreal sense of humour has led to him performing sell-out tours to record-breaking audiences across the length and breadth of his adopted homeland. Admired and loved by audiences on both sides of the globe for his brilliant wit and razor-sharp take on the absurdities of every day life, Jimeoin's career keeps going from strength to strength. Do not miss an opportunity to see this man perform live.
‘Classic nonsense... stand-up comedy at its best’ (The Scotsman)
'Inspired... comedy so deceptively bright it almost blinds you... not so much stand-up
comedian, more stand-up David Attenborough... this is comedy of the highest order’
(London Evening Standard)
'A series of hilarious, often surrealistic climaxes. this is the comedy of one who
truly perceives human behaviour, breaks it up and puts it all together again in all
its ridiculousness, to leave you with your eyes streaming... comic genius’
(Edinburgh Evening News)
'Hilarious... It gets no better than this... Brilliant!' (Time Out)
'Comedy of the highest order... Inspired ramblings' (The Independent).
