The Tape Deck Heart Tour: Frank Turner + The Sleeping Souls
Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls have announced their biggest ever headline tour for February 2014. The 7 date run includes Frank's first ever headline date at the huge London The O2 Arena as well as other impressive arenas in Cardiff, Manchester, Nottingham and more.
Frank Turner has had a busy year, even by his own standards. Following the release of his fifth studio album ‘Tape Deck Heart’ in April, he played a sold-out tour of the UK and has been on the road with his band The Sleeping Souls ever since. So far his global tour has taken him across Europe, to the Far East, Australasia and North America.
‘Losing Days’, the third single to taken from ‘Tape Deck Heart’, is released on 1st September through Xtra Mile Recordings.
In an official statement on his website, Frank Turner proclaimed: "Ladies and gentlemen, the wait is finally over – we have a new UK tour to announce. Apologies for the delay, I wasn't allowed to talk about it until festival season was done. But now we're there I can let you know about the shows, and I'm pretty excited about it...I can't wait to get back in the saddle and around the home country again, for what I guess we're calling the Tape Deck Heart Tour."
Former singer for hardcore outfit Million Dead turned folk troubador, Frank Turner has seen his fame flourish through, essentially, the old fashioned route - hard work, continuous gigging and word of mouth. His singer-songwriter solo career steadily grew from cult status to an arena filler, eventually playing London's O2 and Wembley Stadium.
It has been an eventful decade for the troubadour from Winchester who now resides in Holloway, North London. Turner released his debut album, “Sleep is For The Week”, in 2007 and has been on a stunning upward curve ever since. He is now one of the country’s most cherished songwriters, a man who plays the biggest venues in the land and whose records reach the higher echelons of the charts but who has never lost sight of his original MO: write, record, tour, repeat.
His blend of folk-punk-rock and powerful lyrics has seen him continue playing to an already devoted fanbase, but he picks up new fans with every festival appearance and tour.
