Scottish Chamber Orchestra

When you place a small ensemble of musicians in the Queen’s Hall, an incredible transformation takes place. A space that is host to a wide range of events from Jazz to Pop becomes an intimate and reflective setting.

When it happens on a Sunday it is particularly special. There is no need to go out on a cold dark evening, or worry about the week’s activities. You can switch off, relax and immerse yourself in a beautiful afternoon of music.

Our Chamber Sundays series, featuring music written for smaller ensembles, is a chance for their Principal players to show a different side of their music-making. To watch them perform in an intimate venue is a bonus.

While the musicians are playing, you can see them communicating, listening, adjusting their sound to match each other. Sometimes your attention is drawn to just one player allowing you to dig deeper into music than what you hear from the orchestra as a whole. Whenever SCO musicians play they show their character.
