In the artist own words.....

"This exhibition documents the two years I spent living with and supporting a friend of mine through his devastating, destructive drug addiction and the effect that living in his world had on me. Through this series of paintings, taken from photographs and memories of events, I have charted the effects of my friend's addiction and how I, in turn, slowly became more dependent on another drug, alcohol, and how I used it as a coping mechanism as I became a part of my friend's increasingly chaotic life. The two years I spent with him culminated in me having a drink-related accident that would ultimately require six hours of reconstructive facial surgery to repair the three skull fractures I suffered.

This exhibition shows the detrimental effects that both legal and illegal drugs can have not only on those who take them but also the people who are nearest to them."
