The legendary Paul Simon has announced he is to tour the UK & Ireland in November, his first UK shows since Hyde Park in 2012.
The concerts will see Simon play a two-hour set featuring classic songs spanning his illustrious career, as well as a selection of tracks from his eagerly anticipated forthcoming album ‘Stranger to Stranger’ (out June 3rd on Virgin EMI).
Full of thrilling, imaginative textures, ‘Stranger to Stranger’, Paul’s 13th solo album, conjures a vivid and vital new context to his well-established virtuosity as a singer and songwriter. The record, his first since 2011’s acclaimed 'So Beautiful Or So What', ushers the listener into a brave new musical world where expectations are defied and exceeded, as they were thirty years ago with another masterwork, Graceland.
As half of the legendary duo, Simon & Garfunkel, he was one of the most influential songwriters of the 60s and 70s. Paul continued to forge a successful solo career in the 80s, and released the ground-breaking album Graceland, which won a Grammy, and helped popularise the world music genre. His prolific solo career continues, with more than ten studio albums to date. In 2000 he was inducted to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame for a second time to recognise his work as a solo artist, and in 2006, Time Magazine called him one of the '100 people who shape our world'.
