An Inspector Calls

The wealthy Birling family is holding a dinner party to celebrate the engagement of daughter, Sheila. Into this happy scene comes a police inspector investigating the suicide of a young working-class woman. Surely, members of such a respectable family cannot shoulder any of the blame?
