Devizes Festival : Howard Marks
"Never one to rest on his laurels, intrepid bon viveur and counter culture icon Howard Marks follows up another extraordinarily busy year that has seen him going head to head with Peter Hitchens debating the War on Drugs, release his second acclaimed novel The Score and making several festival appearances, with his brand new spoken word show.
With trademark honesty and penetrating humour, Howard will look back at four extraordinary and action packed phases of his life. Covering his time as an academic and his nascent interest in marijuana, through his infamous years as the world's most notorious drugs trafficker and his incarceration in Terre Haute, one of the United States toughest penitentiaries, Howard brings the story up to date with his current career as a best selling author and national treasure.
Tickets on sale Saturday 17th May, through our Box Office in Devizes books, or online at WeGotTickets.com."

Howard Marks
Howard Marks was a raconteur and ex-international drug smuggler. Notorious for his audacious exploits in the '70s and '80s, Howard avoided the grasp of international law enforcement for two decades, while building one of the biggest smuggling rings in history. The law finally caught up with Howard in 1988, whereby he served out 7 years of a 25 year sentence, before being released in 1995.
He died in April 2016.
