Simon Drew Exhibition

My childhood comedy heroes were the Marx Brothers, Flanders and Swann, Tom Lehrer and Victor Borge - witty wordsmiths all. I appreciated their puns and intelligent verbal dexterity, sometimes expressed in rhyme or song. I still love them.

The humorous possibilities of language informs much of my artwork, as does placing objects in incongruous situations. I try to develop my skill and accuracy in drawing, but I often couple images with the humour of the absurd and become a purveyor of nonsense......It must be working: my wife assures me that I'm absurd and my work laughable.
