'One of the most original bands I have heard in a long while and destined for great things' - Music News
'bursting with tight, driving melodicism' - Time Out, Critic's Choice
'An unexpected joy' - R2 Magazine
'These guys are good' - Blues in Britain
'Led by vocalist/guitarist Jamie Francis, the lads ooze class and confidence, delivering blues in a Led Zep tinged style through Resonator guitar, clever songwriting with a modern twist. One to note.' - Blues Matters
With their unorthodox blend of old and new influences, ranging from 1930s American blues to British progressive rock, Stark defy categorisation. For the last three years, this Brighton-based trio have been honing their songwriting and performance skills, recording, producing and releasing their own music - to huge critical acclaim. Their infectious melodies, profoundly poetic lyrics and unique arrangements have won Stark a dedicated and growing fan base.
In 2013, a heavy touring schedule and frequent festival appearances (including Tenby Blues Festival and Bowness Bay Blues) began to put Stark on the map. Since the release of their debut EP, 'Where the Grey Slates Meet', they have built a strong following and gained a reputation for their superlative musicianship. The band's next release, 'Stories From The Ground', has seen them move up another gear. They have had tracks played by Paul Jones and Huey Morgan on Radio 2, reviews have started appearing in major blues and rock publications, and Stark are being booked for top London venues, including the 100 Club and Dingwalls.
