Silhouette: a witty modern murder by Simon Brett.

In their West Sussex cottage, international actor Martin Powell is discovered dead by his estranged wife, the actress Celia Wallis. The police are called to investigate forensic clues, alibis and suspects.

Time is then rolled backwards to earlier that evening and we are shown the course of events that led up to the murder, including the arguments between the caustically tongued stage folk and the socially challenged Neville.

Just who had means, opportunity and motive? And was that sufficient or are things even more complex than they appeared?
