MacMillan / Britten Concert

In 2012, Coventry Cathedral commissioned James MacMillan to write a GLORIA to commemorate the opening of the new Cathedral in 1962. In the same concert, Britten’s St Nicolas, was performed.

In order to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Coventry diocese in 1918, and to mark the end of the Great War, both works will be presented again, in addition to the Te Deum composed by the choir’s conductor, Paul Leddington Wright, for the 50th anniversary of the Choir.

For this special occasion, the Coventry Cathedral Chorus will not only be joined by Cathedral Choristers and school choirs, but also the Plano Civic Chorus from Dallas, Texas, Orchestra Pro Anima and Cathedral Brass.
