Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem
Following their summer school at Warwick University, singers from The Really Big Chorus perform in Coventry Cathedral under the direction of Brian Kay.
Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem sets biblical texts rather than the more commonly used liturgical Latin. It was written by the composer in his thirties and intended as a comfort for those who mourn the loss of others. He himself had only recently lost his mother.
