Join Johnny Coppin, one of England’s finest singer/songwriters and a member of Decameron, for a special Christmas show at Pound Arts. Featuring a rich mix of traditional carols, new songs, stories, folklore, and superstitions, this festive concert is enhanced by the talents of Paul Burgess (fiddle/recorders) and Dik Cadbury (guitars). With a blend of well-crafted lyrics, musical brilliance, and nostalgic festive charm, the evening will include selections from Coppin’s latest release, Midwinter Live in Concert, and favourites from previous Christmas albums.
Celebrated Cotswolds singer-songwriter Johnny Coppin made his name in the '70s with the cult folk-rock group Decameron but has worked as a solo performer on the European folk scene for many years, playing his own material and new arrangements of traditional folk songs. An accomplished performer, he is renowned for his clear vocals, guitar and keyboard playing. He had a hit collaboration with well-loved writer Laurie Lee on the album Edge Of Day, setting Lee's poems to music, and has a weekly show on BBC Radio Gloucestershire. 'Strong, clear vocals, and songs of substance' (The Daily Telegraph) 'One of the finest voices in its field' (Q Magazine).
