Mike Silver

We’ve been nagged to have Mike back again (not that it took much persuasion!). He describes what he does as ‘music of a well-lived lifetime’, which sums it up perfectly. Introduced to the guitar at the age of nine, he decided that was his instrument of choice for the rest of his life. Starting in folk clubs in the 1960s, he has toured Britain, the continent and the USA ever since, writing his own songs along the way, working as a studio musician and singer in between times. He was signed in the early ‘70s to Elton John’s Rocket Records, toured with the likes of Dory Previn, Ashford & Simpson and Show of Hands, and worked with Charles Aznavour, Chris de Burgh and Ralph McTell. Nor does he neglect others’ songs, picking the best, performing them in his own style and making them his own. If you’ve seen Mike before, you’ll already be a fan, but if not, give yourself a treat and experience the breadth of his singing, the height of his musicianship, the stature of his performance, and his easy rapport with his audience. A giant of the acoustic music scene indeed!
