An Evening With

An Evening with David O'Brien 'Northern Soul: Football, Punk, Jesus'

As a rebellious teenager, David O’Brien wore Dr Martens boots, bleached his hair, fought on the football terraces, loved listening to punk music and spent most of his spare time in the pub.
He admits the closest he got to worship was standing at The Stretford End on a Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford.

He did not know where he his life was going, but then he found Christianity.
Now a vicar in Shrewsbury, the Reverend O’Brien, who studied Theology in Blackburn, has written about the dramatic twists and turns in his life in a remarkable and touching new book, Northern Soul: Football, Punk, Jesus.

Hear about David’s amazing life when he makes a special appearance at the Grand Theatre on January 18, 2017.
