The final concert of our 2015 - 2016 series will be a wonderful finale to the 30th season as it features the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Pavel Kogan and joined by the legendary British pianist John Lill.
The concert opens with Shostakovich's effervescent Festival Overture which is followed by Prokofiev's highly charged and exciting 3rd Piano Concerto. In the second half you will be fortunate enough to hear one of the greatest Russian symphonies ever written, Rachmaninov's majestic Symphony No.2 with its deeply dramatic opening movement, its ebullient scherzo and its famous, elegiac slow movement.
This UK tour by the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
