The 2016/17 season starts in style with a World Premiere of a work based on the action-packed and colourful life of Cardiff-born author Roald Dahl. Plus, we are thrilled to be performing with the iconic Welsh actor Michael Sheen in an exciting World Premiere of Mr Dahl by emerging Welsh composer Bernard Kane Jr.

This magical family concert forms part of Cardiff’s City of the Unexpected festival, which celebrates 100 years of Dahl who was born in Llandaff in 1916.

The remainder of the programme highlights Dahl’s war years as a pilot (Walton’s Spitfire, Prelude and Fugue); his Norwegian family roots (Grieg’s much loved Peer Gynt Suite) and one of Dahl’s most popular tales (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).
