Cardiff Polyphonic Choir
Conductor David Young
No Christmas is complete without hearing a live performance of Handel’s greatest and most popular oratorio!
With the baroque orchestra Réjouissance (leader: Simon Jones) together with a quartet of highly talented soloists who perform regularly and to great acclaim on the international concert stage:
Soprano: Sarah Tynan – “extraordinarily intrepid performance surely crosses into realms where no opera singer has gone before." – The Times
Countertenor: William Towers – “Yet for style and assurance, it was the countertenor William Towers who stood out. Of all the elegant elaborations of the da capo arias, his were the boldest, and in the aria "He Was Despised" the beauty and directness of expression of his voice sent a shiver down the spine” - The Guardian
Tenor: Joshua Ellicott - “stand out in an excellent cast” – New York Times
Bass: Matthew Brook – “MatthewBrook was outstanding.” – The Guardian
