Formed of three internationally-renowned new music soloists, the combination of Xenia Pestova (piano and auxiliary keyboards), Carla Rees (flutes) and Heather Roche (clarinets) has been described as a ‘supertrio’.

The three musicians often collaborate with composers on new pieces for their various instrumental combinations, presenting exciting premieres alongside classic Twentieth Century repertoire.

The trio’s flexible instrumentation and experience with extended techniques and new technologies allows them to explore tunings and timbres that expand beyond traditional limitations of the individual instruments.

During their residency in Cardiff they perform 20th and 21st century masterworks alongside premieres by Rob Fokkens and Andrew Lewis. They will also mentor student composers in a workshop of new pieces.
