Summer Timbre
Winner of the 2013 Ivor Novello John Harle is one of the world's leading classical saxophonist, performing Glazunov's bewitching Saxophone Concerto and Chick Corea's Children's Songs. Glazunov was so enthralled by the saxophone he called it a 'new timbre' in music. Chick Corea's beautiful collection of short musical stories have been transcribed for saxophone and string orchestra by John Harle. The FCO perform Stravinsky's Pulcinella Suite, Donizetti's Concertino for Cor Anglais & Orchestra and Schubert's Symphony No. 5.
This event has been moved from Colyer-Fergusson Hall, Canterbury.
