Festival Talk

Please note: Info provided by the Event Organiser

Historian and broadcaster Kate Williams takes us back to the 1920s - a time of the flappers, the female independence movement, the silver screen, speakeasies and the General Strike and asks - how roaring were the Twenties? The flapper in particular was a symbol of the new world, with her bobbed hair, short skirt, fascination with freedom rather than marriage. But how free was she really? In this fun, entertaining talk, Kate brings the 1920s to Canterbury Festival in all their wild, vivid glory.
