Violinist Omar Puente’s new album Best Foot Forward represents the second stage of an international musical journey, and continues where the debut release From There to Here left off.
This second instalment continues to draw upon musical influences from around the globe and reflects a career living and working with musicians from around the world.
Rooted in Omar’s Afro Cuban heritage, the project fuses musical experiences from Brazil, Africa, the Caribbean and Europe, with a deep understanding of jazz. This rich mix produces an album of complex and infectious rhythms and original melodies, performed by a multinational sextet.

An exponent of hot Cuban salsa music, Omar cut his teeth with Latin greats such as Ruben Gonzales, Chucho Valdez And Arturo Sandoval.
