Josh Widdicombe

Josh is best known as co-host of the twice BAFTA nominated and multiple Broadcast and RTS award winning show The Last Leg on Channel 4. With 14 critically acclaimed series under their belts Josh, alongside co-hosts Adam Hills and Alex Brooker, have been praised for their reaction and topical coverage of the weeks most harrowing of news stories, as well as their ability to open up the conversations surrounding disability through their coverage of the Paralympic Games and beyond. The Last Leg is currently in its 15th series, broadcast live at 10pm on Channel 4 on Friday nights. This series includes a Christmas Special on Friday 21st December and the show returns for a two hour long supersized edition at 9pm on New Year’s Eve where The Last Leg Of The Year will welcome 2019 in glorious fashion. Josh has made a number of other notable TV appearances including three series of his critically-acclaimed BBC sitcom JOSH which he created and starred in, team captain on BBC Two’s Insert Name Here as well as regular appearances on BBC’s Two’s QI, BBC One’s Have I Got New For You, Sky One’s A League of Their Own and on Dave’s Taskmaster (winner of series 1 plus crowned the Champions of Champions ultimate winner in 2017). Josh also hosts his own hugely successful 90’s football podcast Quickly Kevin, Will He Score? alongside Chris Scull and Michael Marden. In early 2019 Josh returns to DAVE to host the brand new series Hypothetical alongside James Acaster. Hypothetical is a brand new comedy panel show that tests two teams of comedians on their ability to deal with a series of ridiculous hypthetical scenarios.

Simon Amstell

Simon Amstell appearing at this event

Former C4 Popworld presenter, host of The Morning After Show and Mardi Gras comedy competition finalist. Simon has won an RTS Award for his work on Never Mind The Buzzcocks as well as a Broadcast Award, two British Comedy Awards and was nominated for a BAFTA in 2008 which was the year that he left Never Mind The Buzzcocks to concentrate on his live stand-up shows across the country. Simon’s debut feature length film 'Carnage' aired on BBC iPlayer in 2017, followed by 'Benjamin' which premiered at the London Film Festival in 2018 and was released internationally to widespread critical acclaim. Tommy Tiernan

The star of Channel 4’s hit show Derry Girls, Live at the Apollo (BBC) and the host of his own highly critically praised improvised chat show on Ireland’s RTE 1. Tommy's mastery of stand-up allows him to take risks other comedians dare not. Richard Herring

As one half of the prolific comedy duo Lee & Herring, Richard enjoyed phenomenal cult success as a writer and performer with shows such as Fist of Fun (BBC Two) and This Morning with Richard Not Judy (BBC Two). Richard completed a 94 date nationwide tour of his critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe show, Christ On A Bike: The Second Coming. In 2010 he also published his book, 'How Not To Grow Up', and released 'Hitler Moustache' - his acclaimed stand up show - on DVD. 'Herring is a superior comedian... Mark Watson

A former Cambridge Footlighter, Mark Watson first made an impact on the comedy circuit in 2002 when he won the Daily Telegraph Open Mic competition and was a runner-up in So You Think You're Funny? He has become known for his Edinburgh shows (2005's 50 Years Before Death And The Awful Prospect Of Enternity was nominated for the Perrier) and his gruelling shows that last more than 24 hours. Perrier's successor, the if.comeddies, awarded the panel award for best capturing the spirit of the fringe, in 2007. Watson won the Chortle award winner for innovation in 2005, when he was also nominated for best breakthrough act, and was nominated for best compere in 2007. He is also a novelist, with his debut Bullet Points, published in 2003; has written for TV and in 2007 landed his first radio series, Mark Watson Makes The World Substantially Better.

Carl Donnelly

Carl started performing stand-up regularly in the early part of 2005 and quickly established himself as one of the most exciting new comics climbing the comedy ladder. Nathan Caton

Nathan is a young black British comic, gigging on both the mainstream and black comedy circuit. His set is highly observational, influenced by his culture and upbringing, and also coming from a young person's outlook on life, from the well-known Nigerian traffic warden and the always-disciplining West-Indian mother, to MTV's Pimp my Ride. Arthur Smith

Arthur Smith appearing at this event

Comedian, compere and playwright. This grumpy old man per excellence presents the BBC Radio 4 show 'Excess Baggage' and has written four plays including 'An Evening With Gary Lineker' and 'Live Bed Show'. His stand-up topics range from vigorous yodelling to mediaeval literature via death by drink. His delivery is relaxed and sardonic, but his shows are a surprising, dark and witty treat. He's also one of the many 'Grumpy Old Men' that appear on BBC 2's hit show. 'The funniest and most honest comic of his generation' (The List).

Rich Wilson

Rich Wilson has loved comedy ever since his older next door neighbour gave him a cassette of Eddie Murphy - Delirious.'It was the most mindblowing thing I'd ever heard. Angela Barnes

Before becoming a comedian, Angela worked in health and social care. In 2011, she won the BBC New Comedy Award and became a finalist at the 2011 Latitude Festival New Act of the Year competition. Since then Angela has become a regular on BBC’s The News Quiz, Newsjack and Mock The Week. Henry Paker

After a brief career in computer animation, Henry Paker decided to give comedy a go. He started out doing stand up in rooms above pubs, then in rooms below pubs and then eventually in the main body of the pub itself. In 2008 he won the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and realised he might be onto something. Since then Henry’s many comic talents have seen him carve out a career as a comic writer, stand up, actor and cartoonist. Romesh Ranganathan

Romesh burst onto the comedy circuit in 2010, gigging regularly at top venues all over the country. As well as turning in storming turns on a regular basis, he has also found time to reach the Latitude New Act Final 2010, The So You Think You're Funny? Final 2010 as well as coming runner up in The Amused Moose Laugh Off 2010. In 2015 Romesh starred in his own show called 'Asian Provocateur' (BBC Three) where he travelled to Sri Lanka to learn about his parents' country. In 2016 the second series 'Mum's American Dream' was commissioned. He has forged a fearsome reputation with a set that combines cutting one liners with an acerbic take on the world around him. Seann Walsh
