Miss Dietrich Regrets

The story of Marlene Dietrich, once one of the the world's most famous movie stars. She became a legend, an icon, without apparently ever growing old. Miss Dietrich Regrets is a revealing and poignant new look at the aging Marlene, alone in a Paris apartment, battling with her daughter to retain her independence to the very end. Marlene

The play explores mother/daughter relationship, particularly within the context of a woman universally adored, but who is both narcissistic and selfish. It looks at the sex goddess who becomes decrepit, the icon needing the bathroom, the real conflicts between powerful mother and daughter with Marlene desperately trying to preserve her independence and dignity.

'... a superb performance from Elizabeth Counsell, who gives us the full range of Dietrich's persona'
( Everything Theatre)

'... it was as fascinating and informative as it was entertaining. (Everything Theatre)

'Moira Brooker gives an excellent portrayal' (Remotegoat)

'... the entire play depends on the moving and totally accurate performance by Elizabeth counsel as the diva herself' (Remotegoat).
