Calstock Big Jazz Choir

The Big Jazz Choir was born out of Calstock's first Jazz & Blues Festival in 2012. The festival has also hosted three Counterparts MTA creative song-writing projects (New Jazz Songs; Vintage Love Songs; Songs From A Small Train) facilitated by BJC leader Helen Porter. This performance celebrates many of these songs, written by the people of the Tamar Valley. They will be performed by the BJC with a number of local singers, as well as guest soloists Anna Batson (vocals and multi-instrumentalist), Mike Thorn (double bass) and young Nigerian singer Mark Samuel.
