12 Silk Handkerchiefs is the story, told in song, of Hull's Hessle Road fishing community. 'In particular this is the story of fish wife Lillian Bilocca who fought an extraordinary campaign for improved safety at sea in the aftermath of the 1968 Triple Trawler Disaster, in which 58 crew members died, with just one survivor.
Reg Meuross brings a rare solo performance of his song cycle 12 Silk Handkerchiefs telling this story.
Accompanying himself on his '44 Martin six-string guitar, tenor guitar, banjo, dulcimer and harmonica the award winning singer-songwriter will also perform songs from new album RAW along with some old favourites.
The breadth and depth of his material is unparalleled in contemporary folk: songs about forgotten heroes, famous names, folk legends, the climate emergency, tales from the kitchen sink and news from the world stage; if something needs to be sung about then Reg Meuross has a song for it.
