Directors' Cuts 2017 - Iceland

By Nicholas Billon - Bristol Old Vic Theatre School Directors' Cuts Season 2017.

Set against the backdrop of the global financial crisis of 2006, the lives of three strangers are brought together through a bizarre chain of events.

Kassandra is a university student who works as an escort at night; Annais a devout Christian whose connection to the world is largely through friends on the internet and Halim is a young deal-making estate agent. But how are the three actually connected – and what has that got to do with Iceland?

Winner of the Governor General’s Award – Canada’s top playwriting prize, this dark and funny play explores the nasty underbelly of our global financial system, and the ways it can transform our lives.

Directed by Geoffrey Brumlik.
Designed by Anisha Fields.
