Elder
beholdtheelder.bandcamp.com/]

Elder is the definition of a work in progress, as the group continues to meld the familiar sounds of Sleep‘s colossal riffage with their ever-evolving vision of soaring melodies and sonic soundscapes. Listeners will find themselves locked into the trio’s lengthy epics, which toe the line between the chasms of classic stoner metal and mindblowing psychedelia.

Since the release of 2010?s Dead Roots Stirring, their second full-length record for MeteorCity Records, Elder has continued to push their sound in more dynamic and inspiring directions, while still holding true to their original methodology: all heavy, no filler.

King Buffalo
kingbuffalo.bandcamp.com

"King Buffalo is a psychedelic trio in the classic format of bass, drums, and guitar, whose expansive and thunderous music is anything but easily definable.

Formed by three long-standing members of the blooming Rochester, NY rock scene, King Buffalo gathered in September of 2013 to start working on a new musical collaboration in a heavy rock vein. Their efforts spawned a demo release and several splits and one-offs which, coupled with their impressive live show, quickly gained them an international audience.

Nearly exactly three years after their formation, King Buffalo shows the world its first long-player creation – a powerful concoction of heavy psych, blues, and stoner rock in stunning cohesion. Orion's flow is surprising giving the relative youth of the band, but King Buffalo seems to be a rare breed capable of fusing loose-knit and spacious pieces into a tightly-focused package. Written during and out of jam sessions, Orion’s nine tracks are texturally rich and oozing with psychedelic goodness, yet honed and driving in the next blink of an eye. Lush, shimmering melodies á la Dead Meadow and free-flowing grooves that recall All Them Witches meet with the full force of fuzzed-out stoner rock riffs, all coinciding organically. impressively, King Buffalo’s focus extends beyond composition and into the technical realm; Orion was recorded entirely by the band in the very same rehearsal room that played host to the songs' creation. After a successful self-release, Stickman Records is proud to present Orion to the world on 180 gram vinyl including CD as well as a standalone CD release." - via Sludgelord

Sigiriya
candlelightrecordsuk.bandcamp.com/album/darkness-died-today

Beneath the soil of a Welsh valley a heavy metal life-force regained strength: rising from the ashes of psychedelic doom merchants Acrimony - Sigiriya was born.

Sigiriya come from the earthy depths of Wales, bringing hefty, tremor-inducing sonic sounds that pay homage to the riff. Time served in the likes of Iron Monkey, Dukes of Nothing, Black Eye Riot, The Nine, Suns of Thunder and Tabularasa have forged their thick output, giving the foursome a more dynamic, meaner, leaner, earthier approach, which has developed an intense dirty sound.

Their latest release ‘Darkness Died Today’ was released through legendary 'Candlelight Records' (Winterfylleth, Orange Goblin, Ihsahn); renowned for building on the sonic foundation of ‘Return To Earth’ and soars to even greater heights with the addition of new vocalist Matt ‘Pipes’ Williams.

Sergeant Thunderhoof
sergeantthunderhoof.bandcamp.com/

Prime cuts of riffs served with a side of tasty psychedelic mushrooms, garnished with a sprinkle of doom croutons.

Sergeant Thunderhoof were formed in late 2013 initially as just an excuse for old friends to get together once in a while and jam some tasty licks. It soon became apparent that a collective sound was emerging and so it was decided that they would go into the studio and do some recording. The result of which was 'Zigurat', a killer 5 track EP, stretching over 40 psychedelic doom drenched minutes. The album met with countless positive reviews and was included in many 'Album of the Year' polls on online blogs and sites. This led to shows around the UK playing with bands such as Elder, Mos Generator, Desert Storm, Grifter, Suns of Thunder, Baron Greenback and many more.

2015 saw the release of their first full length album 'Ride of The Hoof' which garnered even more attention and led to features in magazines such as Metal Hammer and Terrorizer. The Hoof plan to promote the new album well in to 2016 and are making tentative plans to play some shows and festivals in Europe in the Summer. A vinyl and tape release looks to be happening in the Spring.

"A psychedelic riff laden monster that blends Doom, Stoner Rock Hard Rock and Groove Rock. This album is dripping with class. If you want some new riff kings to follow or worship then Sergeant Thunderhoof is the band for you. Brilliant and highly recommended" - The Sludgelord
