Alto Saxophonist, author and activist Gilad Atzmon is the perfect choice for this anniversary show celebrating be-bop pioneer Charlie Parker’s 100th birthday. The concert will focus on Parker’s beautiful series of recordings with strings from the early 1950’s and features Atzmon’s celebrated quartet the Orient House Ensemble and the celebrated Sigamos String Quartet.

This dynamic and charismatic Israeli born saxophonist has been bowling over jazz audiences with his whirlwind style since moving to the UK in 1996. Gilad, who also plays clarinet, has performed with such pop stars as Robbie Williams, Sinead O'Connor and Paul McCartney. A regular member of the Blockheads, he performed at Ian Drury's memorial concert in 2000, after touring with him in the last few months of his life.
