Darius Brubeck Quartet

Brubeck plays Brubeck pere et fils, as the celebrated pianist Darius Brubeck – eldest son of his late, great father Dave Brubeck – returns to St George’s with his thrillingly accomplished, hard-swinging quartet of Dave O’Higgins on saxes, Matt Ridley on double bass and Wesley Gibbens on drums.

Playing a programme of much-loved Dave Brubeck classics (‘In Your Own Sweet Way’, ‘Blue Rondo a la Turk’, ‘Unsquare Dance’, ’Take Five’) alongside his own rhythmically inventive, often South African-inspired, mainstream-modern compositions, and linking each piece with entertaining introductions and anecdotes.
