Beethoven Symphony No 9 in D minor ‘Choral’

Bristol Classical Players joins forces with Bath Choral Society to start the 2015 season with one of the cornerstones of Western art: Beethoven’s mighty 9th Symphony, which has been described as ‘a Titan wrestling with the Gods’.

The overture to Verdi’s opera showing the inexorability of fate starts the programme and in between comes the serene acceptance of all things in Strauss’s Four Last Songs.
