Last year, Beak and friends threw a party for 450 people in December. Under the banner Give A S**t Christmas, the band invited a host of likeminded bands and DJs to play and asked friends to contribute gifts to a huge raffle hosted by a TV presenter famous from Homes Under The Hammer.

Every single penny raised from ticket sales - both gig and raffle tickets - was quickly distributed to those who need it the most via a series of Bristol based and focused homeless charities.

On December 12th this year, Beak once again invite you to Give A S**t at Marble Factory when they play live alongside three other acts - Bristol’s homecoming superheroes IDLES, one woman army Billy Nomates and the best tribute act in the business, Bootleg Blondie.

The live bands will be joined by a crew of supporting DJs and dazzling compere Martin Roberts (from TV’s Homes Under The Hammer), who will run the raffle and announce any early election results. As with last year, raffle prizes will be donated by artists, musicians, record labels and book publishers and including a pretty incredible speedboat.

IDLES

IDLES appearing at this event

IDLES are a heavy post-punk band from Bristol. They want to entertain and hurt in equal measure. They believe that art and violence work. Their spirit colour is coral pink. One of them loves queuing, one struggles counting, one has been arrested 8 times, one doesn't like music and one puts sausage rolls on his pizza! 'IDLES are hard to capture, because they're not Fat White Family, they're not Sleaford Mods, they are very much their own incarnation of uncompromising rhythmical punk rock. Lyrically, a mixture of dry obsessional humour and poetic slogans. But, best of all, they really get the adrenaline pumping' - Steve Lamacq, BBC6 Music.

BEAK>

BEAK> appearing at this event

BEAK> were formed in January 2009 by three Bristol musicians, Billy Fuller, Matt Williams and Geoff Barrow. Sometimes a band can be no more than the sum of it's parts, but BEAK> are an equation in which it's impossible to define equivalents or totals. Instead the meeting of three talents form a foundation from which ideas assimilate and propagate.

Bootleg Blondie - The Official Blondie and Debbie Harry Tribute

Bootleg Blondie - The Official Blondie and Debbie Harry Tribute appearing at this event

Bootleg Blondie is the official Debbie Harry & Blondie tribute band, the only Blondie tribute to play the legendary CBGB’s in New York City before it's demise in 2006 and to have the honour to be mentioned on Blondie’s 11th album ‘Pollinator’. Lead vocalist Debbie Harris appeared on two shows for BBC1 when she was picked out of 15,000 applicants to represent Debbie Harry on ‘Even Better Than The Real Thing’ hosted by Paddy McGuinness which attracted an audience of 10 million viewers! Debbie Harris and Bootleg Blondie have played the Isle Of Wight Festival, the 100 Club, the Hammersmith Palais, The Electric Ballroom in London, Eric’s in Liverpool, and have opened up for amongst others The Undertones, Slade, The Beat, Bad Manners, Heaven 17, Toyah, Hazel O’Connor, Tony Hadley, David Essex and Nick Kershaw and can be seen at all the major venues and festivals around the UK and Europe. Debbie Harris and the boys have met the REAL Blondie and are officially endorsed by the band. Debbie Harry got in touch in 2006 when she heard we were playing CBGB’s in New York City to wish us good luck with our show and when Clem Burke, Blondie's charismatic drummer, found out that we were making a replica of his Premier drum kit, he arranged a meet up to sign the Bootleg’s bass drum skin. ‘During the 2010 Blondie tour of the UK we took Clem out for a trip around London in our tour bus, he signed that too!!!!’ In 2014 Clem invited Debbie and Andy to a recording session at the Foo Fighters’ famous 606 Studio in Los Angeles, where they saw Clem and the awesome Neve mixing desk in action! Debbie and Andy got married in March 2016 and to their great delight received two video clips from both Blondie and Debbie Harry herself congratulating them on their wedding day. What a wedding present! And probably the best Xmas present in the world ever was in 2016 when Clem Burke came along to a Bootleg Blondie gig and actually got up and played drums on stage with the band! He said afterwards that watching and playing with Bootleg Blondie was very emotional. Debbie Harris, lead vocalist of Bootleg Blondie, has the looks, the voice and the attitude of the original Blondie bombshell and like her heroine is typically outrageous on stage. She has been known to wear dustbin liners, thigh length boots and t.shirts with more holes than t.shirt! Debbie's pride & joy is her guitar which she plays at every show and is signed by all the Blondie band members. Debbie Harris is the niece of the celebrated singer and actress Shani Wallis who played Nancy in Lionel Bart’s musical film 'Oliver'! ‘Good luck with your show!’ Debbie Harry 'Playing with Bootleg Blondie was very emotional' Clem Burke ‘Thank you for your support’ Chris Stein 'Hey Debbie and Andy congratulations, rock the house!'
