Babes In The Wood
Babes in the Wood is one of the top five most enjoyed pantomimes, based on an old English ballad from 1595, it tells the story of two children abandoned in the woods by their wicked uncle. By 1867 Robin Hood had joined the cast, rescuing the Babes.
This production follows the traditional telling with some fun diversions, new characters and lots of jokes and songs. Based around Nottingham Castle, it features the Sheriff and Maid Marion living at the castle, with the Babes arriving with Nurse Moppet.
The wicked sheriff is encouraged by the Demon Imp, while Fairy Sparkle does her best to stop the Demon. The day is saved by Robin, the babes are reunited, and the Demon’s plans are thwarted.
