Alive And Brel

The music of Jacques Brel will come alive at the Alma Tavern and Theatre in Clifton on Saturday, 13 June as it presents ‘Alive and Brel’, an intimate cabaret revue of songs from the master of the modern chanson. Brel’s songs, famed for their emotional power and ironic wit, will be performed by a trio of singers—Alison Allan, Tim Brown and Steven Allan—who have presented their revue as part of the Three Choirs Festival fringe in both Hereford and Gloucester, as well as for several charity fund-raisers.
Many internationally renowned artists, from Frank Sinatra and Dusty Springfield to David Bowie and Marc Almond, have recorded Brel’s songs, which have been characterised as 'literate, thoughtful and theatrical'.
