Forestry Commission Live Music: The Darkness + Black Stone Cherry
East Anglia's multi-award winning rockers, The Darkness, make a special trip to the woods next summer in what will be a local show for the band when they perform in Thetford Forest as part of Forestry Commission Live Music 2012.
Top American rock band, Black Stone Cherry have been announced as special guests.
The Darkness exploded into the public consciousness for both their unique brand of glammed-up rock and outrageous stage costumes when their debut album 'Permission To Land' shot to number one, spawning new rock anthems including 'Love Is Only A Feeling', 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' and 'Growing On Me'. It was also the fastest selling debut album by a British band in America since The Spice Girls. Four albums later, the band are still flamboyantly rocking, now joined by new drummer Emily Dolan Davies who replaces Ed Graham.
The Darkness tour dates
Kentucky based hard rock band Black Stone Cherry, shun the traditional image of gospel choirs that the deep south is famous for and focus on an edgier image. Black Stone Cherry name AC/DC and Soundgarden as key influences in developing their unique sound, borrowing heavily from blues and motown music. Their imaginative lyrics and well put together harmonies give the music a modern twist on classic rock.
