The Best Live Comedy Every Friday! Now in its 38th year, The Comedy Cellar is the longest running Comedy Club in the UK outside of London. It is one of the most cherished gigs in the country, beloved by audiences and acts alike.
It was established in October 1986 as 'The Friday Alternative' by legendary promoter Malcolm Hardee, in association with South Hill Park Arts Centre, and has been managed by Simon Houlihan of the The Comedy Company Ltd. from the start.
This highly-acclaimed club has played host to most of the big names in comedy and continues to showcase the best new and established acts every Friday.
The Comedy Cellar was the starting point for many of comedy's biggest stars, including Al Murray, Omid Djalili, Eddie Izzard, Greg Davies, Sarah Millican, Andy Parsons, Micky Flanagan, Katherine Ryan, Jack Whitehall and Russell Howard.
