The Erpingham Camp

In a new concept launched in 2017, Musical Theatre Triple Threat students working with a professional production team take two highly original plays and adapt them into first-time, small-scale musicals, using curated songs and original orchestrations. The two creative teams encourages a festival atmosphere with the campus venue as its vibrant hub. Expect laugh out loud hilarity to moments of excruciating poignancy. Adapted and Directed once again by Ian Summers (The Life, Cinderella, Wonderful World of Dissocia, The) and Emma Kilbey (Footloose, Loveplay, Murder, Mayhem & Masque).

In Joe Orton's 'The Erpingham Camp' a respectable group of English campers are innocently enjoying themselves at a 1960s holiday camp before catastrophe strikes and they find themselves fighting against the camp's demonic, rigid, moral and patronising manager, "Erpingham". The play is loosely based on The Bacchae by Euripides.

Not Suitable for children. Guideline 14+ years

This amateur production of “Erpingham Camp, The” is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Ltd.
