Totally Teenage
Conductor Kwamé Ryan unleashes the full power of the world’s greatest teenage orchestra – the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
Hearing is believing: and until you’ve heard the 164 young players of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain raising the roof of Symphony Hall, you don’t know what young musicians can do! And that’s exactly what Bernstein would have wanted. West Side Story is a tale about young people, written by a composer who would have been 100 this year – but whose enthusiasm and creative spirit never got old. His music could have been written for the NYO, and one thing’s for sure; you’ll never hear it played with more verve, more brilliance - or more joy.
Please join us for this exhilarating 21st-century update of Bernstein’s much loved Young People’s Concert.
Please note there will be no interval.
