"Mickie Driver and variety lunches are delighted to present a victory tea dance.

Join us for an absolutely joyful afternoon. You will be welcomed in to the hall (which will be beautifully decorated for the occasion) by our friendly and helpful staff. Tea, coffee and the bar will be available until the fun begins.

Revel in dancing or listening to a super seven piece band – Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Palais Glide, Lindy Hop and lots, lots more. We will also include a couple of splendid cabaret spots during the afternoon to give the dancers and the band a break.

In the midst of the proceedings there will be a truly scrumptious cream tea – sandwiches, cakes, scones with cream and jam and, of course, tea or coffee. No sign of rationing or shortages here, and we won’t be clipping coupons from your ration book!

Then back to the merrymaking, and you can sing or dance the rest of the afternoon away. The second half will include a ‘Spot Waltz’ with prizes – ah, those were the days!

If you would like to, please come along in uniform or period dress and help make the atmosphere even better. If you have earned medals, then please wear them too.

During the afternoon we will have a fundraising raffle for the ‘Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity’ which helps babies and small children with cerebral palsy.

The hall will be open at 1:00pm, the band strikes up at 1:30pm and carriages are at 4:30pm.

We do hope you will come along to what will be a fabulous, fun-filled afternoon. They say nostalgia isn’t what it used to be – well, we can tell you, it is!"
