Resident DJs

Sketchy launched at The Stiff Kitten in late 2005, with media wide boy Colin Murray kicking off proceedings alongside Sketchy residents. The music policy was, well... more than sketchy - whatever the DJs fancied to get the party started that particular week. So that could be a load of old-skool indie and decent pop, daft electro and gangsta rap and with an epic 80s anthem from some dopey film to end. It was always impossible to call and often dictated by the dancefloor as the requests came flooding in.

Despite the unpredictable musical nature of the night, within a few weeks Sketchy was selling out on a regular basis, with queues often snaking round the cinema at the corner of the Dublin Road. Sketchy, five years on and now the busiest club of its kind in the country, has always valued its regulars, whilst welcoming new-comers every single week.

A guestlist system was set up via the Sketchy blog, Rigsy and co poured generous shots from the stage, and big name guests were booked at ridiculously low ticket prices (Mark Ronson, Calvin Harris, Edith Bowman, Gary Lightbody and loads of others have all DJ'd at Sketchy for a fiver or less). The club night has continued to flourish - and here we are, celebrating five years of mammoth tunes on a Thursday night, and mammoth hangovers on a Friday morning!
