Tennent's Vital: The Killers + Bastille
Tennent's Vital is back for 2014, bringing some of the best musical talent on the planet to Belfast for an unforgettable festival experience.
The Killers have been confirmed as headliners, bringing the bright lights of Vegas to Boucher Road Playing Fields on Thursday 21st August. Joining them on the bill will be the hottest breakthrough act of the past year – very special guests, Bastille.
David Guetta will headline on bank holiday weekend, Sunday 24th August. He’ll be joined by fellow dance music icon Steve Angello. Bringing the atmosphere of some of the world’s biggest superclubs to Boucher Road Playing Fields, Tennent’s Vital fans are in for an unforgettable night of electronic music over the August bank holiday weekend.
**Please note: Tennent's Vital is an over 16s event. However, a parent aged 25 and over can take up to two under 16s to the show. Parents will be required to show age identification and sign a consent form in order to gain admission on the day. Under 16s must be accompanied by their parent at all times. Bars will operate a strict Challenge 25 policy.
The Killers are the Las Vegas-based four-piece who formed in 2003, featuring the talents of singer/keyboardist Brandon Flowers, drummer Ronnie Vanucci, guitarist Dave Keuning and bassist Mark Stoermer. They take their name from the logo of the bass drum belonging to a fictional band in New Order's music video for the song 'Crystal'.
One of the biggest rock bands of the 21st century, with worldwide sales in excess of 22 million, the band has also received multiple Grammy nominations, American Music Award nominations, MTV Video Music Awards and NME Awards.
From their early unforgettable hits including 'Mr Brightside' and 'Somedbody Told Me' to later anthems like 'When You Were Young' and 'Human' through to their annual charity Christmas singles, the band have constantly evolved with their hugely successful brand of pop indie-rock.

Virgin/EMI signings Bastille deliver bewitching electro-pop. Fronted by Dan Smith, the band got their name due to the fact Dan's birthday falls on Bastille Day. He also wanted something neutral yet evocative enough to describe his rhythmically and melodically inventive pop music. Since their inception in 2010, the band steadily built up an ever-growing audience, resulting in their debut album 'Bad Blood' reaching the no.1 position in the UK album charts. It went on to be the biggest selling debut album of 2013 and one of the top 10 biggest selling albums of that year. Their second album Wild Worlds followed in 2016.
