The Elias String Quartet, one of the fastest-rising quartets of its generation, has recently completed a series of cycles of the complete Beethoven quartets in eleven British concert halls, on BBC Radio 3 and on the Wigmore Hall Live CD label. Now the group turns its attention to Haydn, with a late quartet full of invention and innovation, and Brahms, with a quartet of relaxed and often sensuous lyricism.
